— Service 04 · Finish
Post Processing & Painting takes a part off the printer and finishes it — sanding, buffing and smoothing, priming and painting — in the same building it was printed in.
Pricing
How much finishing a part needs depends on its size, its geometry, the material it was printed in and the finish you want at the end. We quote against your part and the steps it actually needs, so the number you get is one you can plan with.
Process
Layer lines and support marks are sanded back so the surface is even before anything else goes on.
The sanded surface is buffed and smoothed to take out remaining texture and leave a clean, uniform finish.
A primer coat seals the part and shows up any last flaws, giving the paint an even surface to hold on to.
The part is painted to the colour and finish agreed for your job, then checked before it is packed.

Tell us what the part is and how it was made. We will confirm whether it can go through the same finishing steps before we quote.
Not always. Some parts only need sanding and smoothing; others need the full sequence through to paint. We agree the steps with you for each job.
Send us the colour reference you are working to and we will confirm what we can achieve for your part.
They solve different problems. Multi-colour printing builds colour into the part; painting gives a continuous, uniform surface finish. We will suggest the one that suits your part.
