— Service 02 · Design
Design happens in the same building as the machines that will make the part. That is the whole argument for doing it here: the person drawing it can walk over and look at the thing that prints it.

Pick your starting point to see what we need from you and what you get back.
Form, fit and how the part will be made.
Process
We start with what the part has to do, what it has to fit, and how you expect it to be made.
Rough form and layout are agreed before any detail is committed, so the direction is right before the work is.
The model is built so it stays editable — a change later should be a change, not a rebuild.
The model is reviewed against the route it is heading for: printing and moulding each want something different.
You see it, you comment, we revise. Because the print floor is next door, a physical test part is a short step away.
The model goes straight to whichever of our services makes it. No file leaves the building to be re-interpreted.
Scope
Starting from a sketch, a description or a set of requirements rather than an existing file.
Turning a scan of a physical object into a model you can actually change.
Looking at an existing model through the lens of how it will actually be produced.
Design work aimed at the tooling end of the pipeline, feeding injection molding.
Parts that have to fit other parts, checked as a set rather than in isolation.
Diagnosing why a model would not print, and making it printable.
Capability details are confirmed per job — tell us what you need. Your files are handled confidentially.

If you already have a model, ModelForge lets you upload it and take it forward online.
— Where this sits
Every step stays under one roof, so nothing gets re-interpreted on the way through.

As little as a sketch with a couple of dimensions, or a photo of the thing it has to fit. A scan mesh or an existing CAD file works too. The intake selector above lists what helps for each starting point.
Yes. Plenty of projects start that way. What matters most is understanding what the part has to do.
Often, yes. Thin walls, open meshes, flipped normals and unsupported overhangs are the usual culprits, and they are all diagnosable from the file.
Revision arrangements are agreed per project. Tell us the scope and we will set it out when we quote.
File ownership is agreed in writing as part of the project. Ask us and we will confirm the terms for your job.
We produce the dental applications listed on our Healthcare page, working to the specification supplied by the treating clinician or laboratory. Clinical suitability is determined by the treating professional.
A sketch, a photo, a scan or a file — whichever you have is a place to start.
